Cadets from Warwickshire and the West Midlands (South Sector) Army Cadet Force recently took part in a Cadet Careers Fair at Bramcote Cadet Training Centre, designed to open doors to future opportunities.

Employers at the Careers Fair are showcasing their equipment stands and talking about the skills and opportunities required for role within their organisations and fields

A wide range of forces-friendly employers came together to highlight potential career paths, training options, and offer valuable CV advice. The event allowed the Cadets to engage directly with the employers, gain insights and professional knowledge into the skills needed in today’s workplace, and explore the many opportunities available to them beyond their time with the Army Cadets.

Employers were also able to connect with young people already demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills – qualities honed through their Cadet experience and desirable qualities to possess in the workplace.

A sincere thank you to all participating organisations for taking the time to provide engaging stands and workshops for the young people to learn from and enjoy.

Many of these organisations are already recognised for their support towards the Armed Forces community, including the Cadet Forces, through the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme at Silver and Gold Award level.

These included National Gas, HORIBA MIRA, Rugby Borough Council, Cadent Gas Limited, Unmanned Air Veterans Ltd, MTC – Manufacturing Technology Centre, George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, NP Aerospace, Godiva Limited, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, as well as representatives from the Royal Marines Reserve and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Special thanks also go to Major Shaikh from Warwickshire & West Midlands (South Sector) Army Cadet Force and our Defence Relationship Manager, Cat, for their efforts in making this inspiring event possible.
