Our Estates Team have embraced the introduction of the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS). Having successfully completed the necessary pre FDIS contract training courses provided by Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) meant that they were able to proceed with the implementation date of 1st August 2024.
As a part of the new FDIS Hard Facilities Management contract, we retain the responsibility for the management, contractual arrangements and relationships with units and sites across our West Midlands region, whilst simultaneously acting as the estate advisors, auditors and managers on behalf of the single services with the main VIVO contractors and individual units.
During the FDIS process the Estates team saw some re-organisation to their team structure, the addition of one new post, some promotions and new job titles for the majority of the team, which can be seen in the organisational chart below.
The team have made a good start and are focussed now on honing in their FDIS knowledge and skills that will allow them, from an estate perspective, to move to a steady state and ‘business as usual’ footing.
