Cadets in a lecture theatre. In December Shropshire Army Cadet Force (ACF) hosted their much anticipated annual Christmas Camp. An impressive 237 Cadets and 41 Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) came together over the weekend to celebrate the festive season as a county.

Unfortunately with the arrival of Storm Darragh, the volunteers had to swiftly amended the weekend’s plans to replace the blustery outdoors with safe and enjoyable indoor activities to ensure the festive fun could continue.

The celebrations continued with an opportunity to honour the dedication and achievements of several CFAVs with promotions and awards:

* Lieutenant Roessner and Lieutenant Powell were promoted to Captain.

* Sergeant Instructor Good was promoted to Staff Sergeant Instructor.

* Major Budryk was awarded his fifth bar to the Cadet Force Medal – a testament to his remarkable 42 years of service!

Thirteen CFAVs were also recognised with the prestigious King’s Coronation Medal. The medal was issued to recognise the service and dedication of individuals in the Armed Forces during the Coronation of King Charles III on 6th May 2023.
