Coventry Armed Forces Day Event

29th June 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

To mark Armed Forces Day, the Chase Jazzmen will be playing at Coventry’s newly created Peace Orchard as part of the Coventry’s summer Bands in the Park programme. The Peace Orchard is the brainchild of 96 year-old Coventry D-Day veteran, Dennis Davison, and has been created by local school children and local residents as a permanent legacy to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Native apple trees, fruit hedges and wildflowers have been planted and seating and signs designed by local schools. Visitors will be able to access on-site and digital information about the story of the Normandy Campaign, Coventry’s role as the city of peace and reconciliation, and how to manage a native apple orchard.

The Peace Orchard is a beautiful natural setting to enjoy music with an Armed Forces theme to mark Armed Forces Day. The event is also being promoted as part of Coventry’s Positive Images Festival. More details here.
